Hey everyone! I’ve been on a mission to make my home as eco-friendly as possible, and recently, I tackled the project of repainting my kids’ rooms. I wanted something vibrant, safe, and, of course, non-toxic. After a lot of research, I settled on Earthborn Paints. Their Claypaint range caught my eye because it’s VOC-free, breathable, and comes in a stunning array of colors. Plus, it’s made with natural ingredients, which was a huge win for me.
Before this, I tried Ecos Paints, which are also non-toxic and have a great reputation. They worked well, but I found the color options a bit limited for the vibrant themes my kids wanted. Application-wise, both brands went on smoothly, but Earthborn’s coverage was slightly better, especially over the old, darker colors in my son’s room.
I’m curious, has anyone else used these brands or others for children’s rooms? How did you find the application process, and did the colors hold up over time? Also, for those who’ve gone the DIY natural paint route, what recipes or ingredients have you found effective for kids’ spaces? Let’s share our experiences and tips for creating safe, beautiful environments for our little ones!
Great review, @EcoPainterJen! I’ve also been on the lookout for non-toxic paints for my toddler’s room. I ended up choosing Auro Natural Paints because of their extensive color range and the fact that they’re made from natural raw materials. The application was a breeze, and the colors have held up beautifully over the past year. Has anyone else tried Auro?
@GreenThumb88, I’ve heard great things about Auro! Their commitment to sustainability is impressive. Did you find their colors to be as vibrant as they appear online? I’m considering them for my next project.
I went the DIY route for my kids’ playroom and used a mixture of chalk paint and natural pigments. It was a fun project, and the kids loved helping out! The colors are holding up well, but I did notice that the finish isn’t as durable as commercial paints. Any tips for improving durability with DIY natural paints?
@SunnyDaysAhead, adding a natural wax finish can really help with durability. I used beeswax on my DIY paint projects, and it made a noticeable difference. Plus, it’s completely safe for kids!
Has anyone tried Biofa Paints? I’m considering them for my nursery but haven’t found many reviews. They claim to be eco-friendly and safe for children, but I’d love to hear from someone who’s actually used them.
@NatureLover101, I haven’t used Biofa myself, but I’ve heard they’re quite good. Their focus on natural ingredients is commendable. Maybe someone else in the community has firsthand experience?
I’m all for eco-friendly paints, but sometimes the price tag can be a bit steep. Does anyone have tips for finding good deals on non-toxic paints? Or maybe some budget-friendly brands that don’t compromise on quality?
@DIYDad, I totally get where you’re coming from. One tip is to look out for sales at eco-friendly stores or online. Also, some brands offer smaller sample pots, which can be a cost-effective way to test colors before committing to a larger purchase.
I’ve been using Earthborn Paints for a while now, and I must say, their Claypaint range is fantastic. The colors are vibrant, and knowing it’s VOC-free gives me peace of mind. I haven’t tried Auro Natural Paints yet, but after hearing your experience, I might give them a shot for my next project. How do you find the durability of Auro’s colors compared to others you’ve tried?
I went with Ecos Paints for my daughter’s room, and while I agree the color options are a bit limited, the quality is top-notch. It’s been two years, and the paint still looks as good as new. I’m curious about Auro Natural Paints though. Do they offer any unique colors that you can’t find elsewhere?
I’ve been experimenting with DIY natural paints for my kids’ playroom. I used a mix of clay, chalk, and natural pigments. It was a fun project, and the kids loved helping out. The colors are more muted than commercial paints, but it’s a small price to pay for knowing exactly what’s on the walls. Has anyone else tried making their own paint?
I’m all for non-toxic paints, but I’m also concerned about the environmental impact of production and disposal. Does anyone know if Earthborn or Auro have initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint or recycle materials? It’s great that the paints are safe for our kids, but I’d love to support brands that are also kind to the planet.
I tried Auro Natural Paints after reading about them online, and I was not disappointed. The application was smooth, and the colors are exactly what I wanted. It’s been six months, and there’s no fading or peeling. I’m considering using them for the rest of the house. Does anyone have recommendations for non-toxic paints for high-traffic areas?
I’ve also tried the DIY route with natural pigments and a base of milk paint for my daughter’s room. The colors are beautiful, but like you, I found the durability lacking. What worked for me was adding a natural wax finish over the top. It took a bit of elbow grease to apply, but it’s made a world of difference in terms of wear and tear. Plus, it gives the walls a nice, soft sheen that really brings out the colors.
I haven’t tried DIY paints, but I’m a big fan of Earthborn Paints too. Their Claypaint is amazing, and I love that it’s eco-friendly. For anyone worried about durability, I found that using a good primer first really helps the paint adhere better and last longer. Also, Earthborn offers a clear protective coat that you can apply over their paints. It’s non-toxic and adds an extra layer of durability without compromising the paint’s breathability.
I haven’t tried Biofa Paints myself, but I’ve heard good things about them from a friend who used them in their home office. They mentioned the application was smooth and the colors were vibrant. Might be worth a shot for your nursery. Have you looked into any local stores that carry it? Sometimes seeing the colors in person helps a lot.
I used Biofa Paints for my kid’s playroom last year. The colors are indeed vibrant and it was easy to apply. However, I did notice that it took a bit longer to dry compared to other brands I’ve used. Make sure you have good ventilation if you go with Biofa. Also, their customer service was super helpful when I had questions about the best finish for high-traffic areas.
I’m all for eco-friendly paints, but I’ve been curious about how these non-toxic options hold up against stains and spills, especially in a nursery setting. Has anyone had experience with cleaning walls painted with Biofa or Earthborn? I’m leaning towards Earthborn for my next project but worried about maintenance.
I went with Earthborn for my daughter’s room and it’s been great. The colors are holding up well, and it’s been easy to clean. I just use a damp cloth for most spills. Haven’t tried Biofa, but if you’re worried about maintenance, Earthborn might be the safer bet. Plus, their color range is fantastic.
