Hey everyone!
I recently embarked on a mission to repaint my living room with eco-friendly paints, aiming for a healthier planet and a fresher look. I chose EcoColors Natural Paint for its zero-VOC promise and stunning color range. However, I hit a snag when applying it to my textured walls. Despite following the prep steps meticulously, the paint didn’t adhere as expected, leading to some warranty claim headaches.
This got me thinking about the compatibility of natural paints with different surfaces. I’ve previously used BioShield Clay Paint on smoother surfaces with fantastic results, but textured walls seem to be a whole different ball game. Has anyone else faced similar challenges? How did you navigate warranty claims with eco-friendly paint brands?
I’m also curious about your experiences with other natural paint types on textured surfaces. Any brands that stood out for their durability and ease of application? Let’s share our stories and tips to help each other make more informed choices in our eco-friendly home projects!
Hey @GreenThumbJenny, I feel your pain! I had a similar issue with EcoColors Natural Paint on my textured ceiling. It’s frustrating when you’re trying to do the right thing for the planet and hit these snags. I ended up using a primer specifically designed for textured surfaces before reapplying, and it made a world of difference. Maybe give that a try?

I’ve had great success with Earthborn Claypaint on textured walls. It’s a bit pricier, but the coverage and durability are unmatched. Plus, their customer service is top-notch when it comes to warranty claims. They guided me through the entire process and even sent a replacement when I had an issue. Definitely worth checking out!

@SunnyDaze87 Thanks for the tip! I hadn’t thought about using a specific primer for textured surfaces. Do you remember which brand you used? I’m willing to try anything at this point to get it right.

I’m all about Auro Natural Paints for textured surfaces. Their range is specifically designed to handle the challenges of uneven surfaces, and I’ve never had an issue with adhesion. Plus, their eco-credentials are impeccable. It’s a bit of an investment, but for the peace of mind and the planet, it’s worth it.

@GreenThumbJenny I used Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer. It’s not the most eco-friendly option out there, but it did the job perfectly. After that, the EcoColors Natural Paint went on like a dream. Maybe not the greenest solution, but sometimes you have to compromise a bit for the greater good, right?

Has anyone tried Biofa Natural Paints on textured surfaces? I’ve heard good things but haven’t taken the plunge yet. Looking for some real-world feedback before I commit.

I’ve been using Ecos Organic Paints for years, and they’ve never let me down, even on textured walls. Their customer service is also very helpful with any issues. Might be worth a look if you’re still searching for the perfect paint.

Totally get where you’re coming from. I tried EcoColors on my textured bathroom walls and it was a disaster. Ended up switching to AFM Safecoat which worked much better. Their customer service was super helpful too, walked me through the whole process.

I had a similar issue but with Earthborn Claypaint. It’s supposed to be great for all surfaces but my textured walls begged to differ. I found that lightly sanding the walls first helped a lot. Maybe something to consider before your next attempt?

Interesting discussion. I’ve been using Auro Natural Paints for a while now and haven’t had any issues with textured surfaces. They’re a bit pricier but the quality and durability are worth it in my opinion. Anyone else tried them?

I’m all about BioShield for smooth surfaces but yeah, textured walls are tricky. I ended up mixing a bit of sand into the paint for better adhesion. It’s not perfect but it’s a workaround that’s worked for me. Curious if anyone else has tried this method?

I’ve been experimenting with Ecos Organic Paints lately. They claim to be suitable for all surfaces, including textured ones. So far, so good, but I’ve only done small patches. Anyone have long-term experience with them on textured walls?
This thread is super helpful. I was just about to start a project with EcoColors on my textured walls. Guess I’ll look into a primer first. Has anyone tried Green Planet Paints? I’ve heard they’re good for tricky surfaces but haven’t seen much firsthand feedback.

I’ve been down that road with eco-friendly paints and textured walls too. It’s frustrating when the paint doesn’t stick as it should. I switched to Auro Natural Paints and haven’t looked back. Their primer made all the difference for me. It’s specifically designed for challenging surfaces. Maybe give them a shot?
Interesting point about Earthborn Claypaint. I’ve heard good things but haven’t tried it myself. I went with Ecos Organic Paint for my textured walls and it worked like a charm. Their customer service was helpful, though I didn’t need to make a warranty claim. It’s all about finding the right match for your walls.

I had a similar issue with BioShield on textured surfaces. Ended up using a high-quality primer first, which solved the adhesion problem. It’s a bit of extra work but worth it for the eco-friendly benefits. Has anyone else tried this approach?

I’m all for eco-friendly paints but sometimes wonder if the texture of our walls is just too much for them. I used Little Greene’s Absolute Matt Emulsion and it worked well, but it’s not entirely natural. It’s a tough balance between eco-conscious choices and practical results.

It’s great to see so many options being shared. I’ve been considering Farrow & Ball’s Eco Paint for my next project. They claim it’s suitable for all surfaces, including textured ones. Has anyone here tried it? I’m curious about its performance and durability.
