Hey fellow eco-warriors!
I’ve been diving deep into the world of natural paints for my latest home renovation project. I’m all about minimizing my environmental footprint, and choosing the right paint has been a big part of that. I’ve experimented with a few brands, but I’m curious about your experiences. Specifically, I’m looking for paints that not only are eco-friendly but also offer great value over time in terms of durability and coverage.
So far, I’ve tried Earthborn Paints and Eco Paints, both of which boast low VOC levels and are made from natural ingredients. Earthborn’s Claypaint has been a dream to work with on my plaster walls, offering a beautiful matte finish that’s breathable and durable. On the other hand, Eco Paints’ range has been fantastic for woodwork, with excellent coverage and a wide range of colors. However, I’m always on the lookout for new options that might offer even better value or performance.
What brands have you tried, and how have they held up over time? Are there any hidden gems out there that combine eco-friendliness with exceptional durability and coverage? Let’s share our experiences and help each other make more informed choices for our homes and the planet.
Hey @GreenThumbJenny, great topic! I’ve been using BioShield Paints for a couple of years now, and I’m really impressed with their durability. Their Clay Paint is similar to Earthborn’s but I found it to be slightly more resistant to wear and tear, especially in high-traffic areas. Plus, their color palette is stunning!

@GreenThumbJenny, the application process with BioShield is pretty straightforward. It’s similar to other natural paints, but I found it to be less streaky. Just make sure to stir it well before use!

@SunnyDaysAhead, don’t be nervous! Auro Paints are quite user-friendly. My tip would be to apply thin coats and let each coat dry thoroughly before applying the next. It might take a bit longer, but the finish is worth it.

I’ve been on the eco-friendly paint journey for a while now and stumbled upon Auro Paints. Their natural paints are something else, especially for those of us who are sensitive to smells. The coverage is decent, but it’s the breathability and how they age gracefully that really sold me. Over time, the colors seem to mellow rather than fade, which adds a unique character to the walls.

The application was smooth, and it’s been over a year with no signs of wear. They claim to be 100% natural, and the lack of any chemical smell was a big plus for me. Definitely worth checking out if you’re still exploring options.

What I appreciate most is their commitment to sustainability, not just in their products but in their packaging and operations too. It’s a bit pricier, but knowing it’s a truly eco-conscious choice makes it worth it for me.

I’ve been using Biofa Paints for a while now, and I gotta say, they’re pretty solid. Their eco-credentials are top-notch, and the paint itself is super durable. I painted my living room with it a couple of years ago, and it still looks fresh. The only downside is it’s a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, right?
Interesting to hear about Green Planet Paints. I’ve been on the fence about trying them, but your positive experience might just push me over. I’ve been using Auro Paints for my projects. They’re a bit on the expensive side, but the quality and eco-friendliness are unmatched. Their natural paints have this rich depth of color that’s hard to find elsewhere.
