Best eco-friendly paint options for high humidity areas: A comparison focusing on mildew resistance

I’ve been using Earthborn paints for a while now, especially in my bathroom, and I have to say, they’ve been a game-changer. The Eggshell No.17 is my go-to for high humidity areas. It’s not just the mildew resistance that’s impressive, but also how it maintains its color and finish over time. Plus, their commitment to sustainability is something I really admire. They use natural ingredients and their packaging is fully recyclable. Definitely worth considering if you’re looking for something eco-friendly and durable.

I tried Auro in my bathroom renovation last year, and while I appreciate their eco-credentials, I found the paint didn’t hold up as well as I’d hoped against the constant humidity. It started showing signs of wear and a bit of mildew after about six months. Maybe I didn’t prep the walls properly, but I ended up switching to Eco Paints for a touch-up, and it’s been smooth sailing since. Their Bathroom Paint really lives up to the hype for moisture resistance and ease of cleaning.

Interesting to hear about Eco Paints and Earthborn. I haven’t tried those yet, but I’ve been curious about BioShield’s Clay Paint for a while. You mentioned using it in your kitchen with good results. Do you think it could work in a bathroom setting as well? I’m all for minimizing environmental impact, but I also need something that can handle the steam and moisture without peeling or molding. Also, does anyone know if these paints are safe for use around pets? I’ve got a couple of cats who are always exploring, and I want to make sure whatever I use won’t harm them.
