We had a few cans that were past their prime, but for the most part, people were pretty honest about the condition of their paints. We also had a quick check-in process where we’d open each can to make sure the paint was still good. It added a bit of time to the setup, but it was worth it to avoid any disappointments.
I love the idea of a paint swap, especially for those of us trying to live more sustainably. I wonder if there’s a way to incorporate other eco-friendly home renovation materials into the swap, like leftover tiles or wood. Has anyone tried that?
Incorporating other materials is a great idea! We haven’t done that yet, but it’s something to consider for the next swap. It could really help reduce waste across different types of home projects. Maybe we could even get local businesses involved to donate materials or offer discounts to participants.
Just a thought, but maybe we could also have a mini workshop or demo at the next swap. Something simple, like how to properly store leftover paint or tips for eco-friendly painting techniques. It could be a fun way to add value to the event and encourage more people to participate.
