Interesting discussion! I’ve been curious about the environmental impact of different paint finishes. Does anyone know if the production process for satin finishes is more resource-intensive than eggshell? I’m trying to make more eco-conscious choices in my home projects.
I’ve been on the fence about trying natural paints, but this thread is convincing me to give it a shot. How do these finishes compare in terms of application? Is one easier to work with than the other? I’m a bit of a DIY newbie, so any tips would be appreciated.
I’ve used EcoSatin in my living room, and the sheen it gives is just beautiful. It really brightens up the space. I didn’t notice a huge price jump from eggshell, but the aesthetic difference was worth it for me. Plus, it’s held up really well over the past year.
For those of you who’ve used both finishes, how do they fare with touch-ups? I’ve got kids, so my walls see a lot of action. I’m leaning towards satin for its durability, but if eggshell is easier to touch up without noticeable differences, I might reconsider.
